It’s Christmas time and we will go out a little bit more… I really love moisturizing lotions and perfumes since I was a child and it is also a beautiful way to show yourself that you take care of him. When my mood isn’t at it’s best a relaxing bath and an improvised home spa(after my yoga practice), with the companion of my favorite tea and a sense, stick burning at my place always cheers me up. Is there a more beautiful and healthy way to pamper ourselves with natural cosmetics that we have made them on our own and we are absolutely sure what we put on our skin? It is also a very ecological way as we already have the ingredients at home and they don’t need plastic packs. Not to forget to mention the economy we do to our wallet… Nature and her gifts have taken care of us also in this subject. It is the orange season and below you will find some recipes for natural cosmetics with orange!

History

The tradition says that the brides on their wedding day must wear or hold orange flowers that are considered as a symbol of purity and well-being. That’s why in Crete they spray the newly wedded couples with water sensed with orange flowers.

Nutrition value

Orange is rich in vitamin C. It also has sugars, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and vitamin A. The essential oils of the peel, the flower, and the leaves are used in the perfumery, confectionery and also in cosmetology. The nutrients of orange and the valuable acids that it contains give it a VIP class in the manufacture of cosmetics.

Skin effects

It helps in the production of collagen(regeneration), whitens the skin(fights freckles and dyschromia) and strengthens the defense again atmosphere pollution, it protects and empowers the vascular mesh that gives oxygen to the skin and gives it shine and vibrancy.

*ATTENTION: The use of cosmetics from orange derivatives is good to be avoided in the summer months.

Natural recipes with orange

  • Face mask with orange, clay, and cornflour

It balances greasiness and gives energy to the skin. Ideal for oily skin.

Ingredients: some orange juice, 1 little spoon clay in the dust, 1/2 small spoon cornflour

Perform: We mix all the ingredients until they become a uniformly, thin fluid mixture

Apply: We apply the mask on the face, avoiding the eyes area and we let it act for 15 minutes. We wash out with lukewarm water.

  • Face mask with orange, honey, and yogurt

It maintains the balance at the skin structure, giving it vitamins and shine. Ideal for normal skin.

Ingredients: some orange juice, 1 little spoon of honey, 1 small spoon of yogurt

Perform: We mix all the ingredients until they become a uniformly, thin fluid mixture

Apply: We apply the mask on the face, avoiding the eyes area and we let it act for 15 minutes. We wash out with lukewarm water.

  • Face mask with orange, yogurt, beer yeast, and avocado

Feeds and nourishes deeply. Ideal for dry skin.

Ingredients: some orange juice, 1 big spoon of yogurt, 1/2 small spoon of beer yeast, 1 small spoon of avocado oil

Perform: We mix all the ingredients until they become a uniformly, thin fluid mixture

Apply: We apply the mask on the face, avoiding the eyes area and we let it act for 15 minutes. We wash out with lukewarm water.

  • Face lotion with orange and rose-water

Stimulates the skin. Ideal for skin with dyschromia. Tones the skin.

Ingredients: 200ml rose-water, 50 drops orange essential oil

Perform: We mix all the ingredients until they become a uniform mixture. 

Apply: Shake the bottle before every use. We can apply the lotion to our skin every night before our night creme. It revitalizes and tones the skin.

  • Face mask with orange and aloe vera

Softens revitalizes and exfoliates the rough, oily skin giving her shine.

Ingredients: 1 big spoon of orange juice, 1 small spoon aloe vera gel

Perform: We put in a bowl the ingredients. We mix them and we apply the mixture at 2 gauzes in order to soak.

Apply: We apply the 1 gauze on the forehead and the other at rest face avoiding the eyes area. We leave the orange acids to act for 10-15 minutes. We apply the mask once a week if we have too rough and oily skin and every 15 days if we have sensitive skin.
