We are what we Eat1 min read

We as humans are designed out of the food, water we consume, and the air we breathe. Our bodies have to replace billions of cells every day throughout our daily food intake.

Eating healthy affects positively our life quality, our mood, our appearance, and our energy. Healthy nutrition is a part of the formula and together with quitting smoking, elimination of alcohol and regular exercise can reduce the risk of major chronic diseases: blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar.

The consumption of more nutrient-dense foods, fresh and unrefined, rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber antioxidants and unsaturated fats such as organic vegetables and fruits, seeds and nuts, fresh herbs and spices, less or not at all meat, more fish and extra virgin oil can help you live longer, feel younger and be more energetic.

On the contrary, processed foods are full of salt, sugar, and saturated fats that can be only harmful for our health. They contain hormones, chemicals, additives, artificial flavors, colors, and all the necessary ingredients for longer storage life, tempting appearance and many useless calories.

So next time you are ready to buy a canned apple juice for example, think it once again and replace it with a fresh crispy real organic apple or a packed granola energy bar or with a handful raw nuts!!!

Think about the old saying: “We are what we eat” and what the ancient Greek physician Hippocrates said: “Let food be the medicine, and medicine be the food”.

It is never too late to start a healthy nutrition program!!!
